Time: 2pm - 4pm
At: Great North Museum, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
The Gingerbread House Challenge, now in its second year, is returning on Sunday 1st December at the Great North Museum (Hancock). The event has been organised by the Crawford House Committee and will raise money for The Sick Children's Trust's 'Home from Home' at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Promising to be bigger and better than before, event organisers have challenged baking enthusiasts to build the largest Gingerbread Village ever made in Newcastle in a competition to be judged by a special guest soon to be announced.
A new corporate category has been added to this year’s Gingerbread Village to allow local businesses to participate in the competition.
The categories to be judged are:
- Best Gingerbread House (Adult)
- Best Gingerbread House (Child)
- Most Creative Gingerbread House (Overall)
- Best Gingerbread House (Corporate)
On the day, people visiting Gingerbread Village will have the opportunity to meet Santa and shop at a variety of Christmas themed stalls as well as decorate a plethora of gingerbread goodies and have their faces painted.
Gingerbread House Kits are allowed. The houses will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the best houses in the village.
The event is kindly sponsored by regional communications company, Footprint PR.
